So what does make me happy? Wat maakt het meisje met de witte helm gelukkig?

So I wrote who I am and what the reason is that I'm writing this blog.
I told you about what I dislike.
But what do I like/love? What makes me happy?

I like writing this blog hehe!
It is very relaxing!
It is nice to share my experience and to give advise on what helps me to live a fulfilled live.
Maybe it wil help you too.
What a bummer is: I have a lot to do for my work, studies, so I don't know if I will have always a lot of time to write this blog. But I will do my best. And maybe I write to long blogs I'm sorry hehe.

I like reading books!
Because than I can escape this world in a fantasy world.
Some favorite writers:
Dostojevski
Tolstoj
Andric
What a bummer is: I don't have a lot of time, because of my work, my studies theology and my studies nursing school. But there I read a lot.
I read also a lot on the internet.

I love to study, learn new things.
That is why I study theology (because of my work, to do it better) and nursing school.
I think it is very good for your mind to challenge it.
And new knowledge is useful!
I like to experiment with new recipes: cooking.
I will post some recipes I like.

I like traveling, that is my passion.
This world is a big place.
It just nice to learn and experience new cultures and countries.
I've been to:
Belgrade of course I lived there
Antwerp of course I lived there hehe
Ghent I lived there
Brussels
Brugges
Oostende
Liege
Amsterdam
London
Paris
Rome
Napoli (Pompei)
Athens
Creta (Chersonisos)
Ljubljana
Prague
Moscow
Sankt-Peterburg
Sarajevo
Dusseldorf
Cologne
Rudo
Priboj
(Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia a lot of cities)
If you want some information about this cities let me know.
Our new destination soon is Oslo!
To visit list: America, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona

I like sports.
I trained Judo and Majorette a long time.
I like swimming, running.
Riding my bike to work! I'm the girl with the white helmet. Ik ben het meisje met de witte helm.
I wear a helmet because it is safe! I want to give the right example. And get used to it, so when I have children later, they were it too! Because I see a lot of mothers not wearing a helmet and their children do. It is good that the children wear the helmets, but a mother has to give to good example!
Which is a bummer: when it gets cold I sport less. That is not good and not healthy. So this is not a good advise. But what I do try is to do a lot with the bike, go to my work with the bike, to the stores.
Do more by foot. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. With small things you can already have a healthier life!
Cleaning the house is also a good exercise!

I like medicine.
Maybe I didn't get into medical school, but this is not a reason to give up on this dream.
So I started nursing school. I read a lot about it in my free time.
Whenever we have to learn something, I try to learn more about it.
I study the matter more thoroughly and more extensively.
My father is my inspiration, because I'm very proud to have a father who knows a lot about health and diseases. He helps us and a lot of people. He prevented us a lot of times from going to the hospital.
So when it was time for me to think about having children, I thought I want to be like my father, someone who nows things about medicine, and more (knowledge is better of course)!
And now I have more respect for nurses, because they know a lot too, and are very important in the healing proces of the patient too!
I learned so much, and the most important thing I've learned about myself is that I've a hidden talent: I'm good with my hands! I'm skillful. When you have to do difficult wound cares you have to use wound care instruments. So I got the compliment that I'm skillful. Also when I rinsed and heparinized the portacath I got the compliment that the teacher would be very happy with a nurse like me!
portacath
So I got very unexpected compliments, because my father considered me as a clumsy person!
Well I proved the opposite. I'm very proud of myself !
My first internship went very well, I got the compliment of my mentors that I'm an asset to the profession.
So I'm very happy I didn't give up on my dream!
So my tip is follow your dreams!

And of course my biggest pasion ever: LANGUAGES!
I love languages with whole my heart!
I speak:
Dutch
Serbian (Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrian,...)
Russian
English
French
Greek: basic
a little bit German
a little bit Spain
Other slavic languages I understand!
My dream was always to learn the cyrillic alphabet and the Greek alphabet!
So those dreams came true too!
I'm lucky to live in Belgium where there are two official languages: Dutch and French.
I also learned at school Latin.
I already posted that it is very useful to know languages.
And also useful to understand the other cultures!
So wherever you go you can communicate with people and I love communicating with people.
So languages and medicine are my passion!
So that makes me happy!

History is also my passion, especially about the Balkan (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Greece, ...)
So teaching orthodox religion is nice, because there is history also a part of.
I love the history of the human beings, of the religions, of the countries.
I learned at school about the history of Western Europe, and at the University about Eastern Europe.
So now I feel complete.
But the history of other countries is also interesting to me.
You can learn a lot of the history, but sometimes you realize that there is not much changed!
There is still war, and fights for power in the world!

Charity work makes me happy too
Donating your hair for breast cancer!
Donating blood!
Donating clothes to the church
I would like to do more, but I'm working on it.

Helping others in general
I love helping friends, family here in Belgium and on the Balkans.
It is not easy always.
But you have to help without expecting something back, otherwise you are disappointed.
But most of the times their help, or you'll be helped when you least expect it!
So if you can always help!

Listening to Music!
Listening to a good song, can make a bad day good!
I love Balkan music and commercial music ( R&B, pop, ...)

And last but not least:
Spending quality time with my husband Marko (breakfast, diner, lunch, traveling, movie in front of tv, cinema, carting, bowling, everything)
I love it when we do things together. I love waiting when he comes from work and we dine together and tell each other how our day has been.
Our messages I love.
He is my best friend!
He supports me and he is a real optimist!
Spending quality time with my sisters Anita and Angela
We do also a lot together and help each other always!
They are my best friends too!
They make me laugh always!
They make me feel better when I feel down!
Thanks for that!
Spending quality time with my parents
My parents I can rely on always!
I love talking with them!
And with my family.
I also love the family dinners, christmas..
And off course with my friends
When you haven't seen them a long time, we talk and laugh a lot, and the parties we do, I love.
But too bad we don't see each other a lot.
It is always with birthdays or special occasions that we see each other, because we all have busy schedules! The most have a family, work,...
But when we are together it is always a party/ a blast!
This week I have autumn holiday's and I used it very well to see all the friend I haven't seen for a long time!

I want to thank all my family and friends who always support me!

So when you're unhappy ask yourself what does make you happy and do that!
Read, travel, cook, listen to music, see your friends, go for a walk with optimistic people in your live, you will forget what made you unhappy!
It is just a moment!
So that is what I try! To concentrate on what does make me happy!

So here I tell you what does make me happy!

Some friends are like that, that is too bad, but I always try to be there for them anyway! But only in emergency cases!

Too bad there are people like that! I try to avoid it, but sometimes even I complain!

The perfect man isn't the rich or most handsome one. It is the one who always knows how to make you laugh AND who will take care of you the rest of his life!

They don't have to understand why I study nursing school. I don't own anyone an explanation.

Sometimes you have to let go of the things that make you unhappy!
